Does Your School Have a Buddy Program?

The buddy programme in primary schools is a system designed to promote positive relationships and support between older and younger students. It involves pairing older students, often from higher grades, with younger students, typically from lower grades. The primary goal of the buddy programme is to foster a sense of belonging, friendship, and mentorship among students.

We’ve put together the perfect tool to help you and your students get together with their little buddies and have some friendly fun! This printable set of 24 task cards is filled to the brim with activities and projects that are perfect for getting your students involved with their student buddies. Some activities include

  • Choose one of your favourite picture books. Read the book to your buddy and talk about the story with them.
  • Work with your buddy to construct something out of building blocks. Let your buddy choose the theme for the construction.
  • Have your buddy lie on some butcher’s paper. Draw around the outline of your buddy. Work together to paint colours and patterns in the body.
  • And More!
