This resource includes two worksheets, each designed to help students identify and categorise changes in matter:
- Worksheet 1: Identify & Label Examples – Students examine a variety of scenarios (melting ice, rusting, etc). They then identify each scenario as an example of a chemical or physical change and as reversible or irreversible, and explain how they know.
- Worksheet 2: Cut and Sort – Students read short scenarios and decide what type of change is occurring. They cut and paste them into three categories, including physical/reversible, physical/irreversible, and chemical/irreversible.
