Use these Chill Out Passes as a classroom management tool.
Print, cut and laminate these cards. You could either give one to each student in your class or put them in a spot where students know where to go and get them.
Students are required to bring the card to you when they feel they are becoming upset or angry and need a break from the situation.
These cards allow students to take responsibility for their own emotions and actions.
There are five-minute and three-minute cards as well as cards with no indicated time amount. Work with students to choose the best option to suit their needs.
Ensure you speak to the student after their chill out time to discuss the situation and any concerns they may have.
