Perform Christmas Science Experiments and teach your students about the scientific method with a set of two printable Christmas Science activities.
Christmas Science Experiments? We’ve Got Those!
Are you on the hunt for something new and different to add to your Christmas lesson plans this year? If so, you’re in the right place because we’ve just put together two exciting Christmas science experiments for you to try out with your students this year!
These Christmas science experiments are designed to introduce your students to the scientific method. The scientific method is a process or method of research. A problem is identified, information about the problem is gathered, a hypothesis or question is formulated, and the hypothesis is tested with an experiment to prove or disprove its validity.
In this experiment, students will hypothesise, test, observe, and report what happens when a gingerbread man or a candy cane is submerged in different liquids.
Printables to Perform Your Gingerbread and Candy Cane Experiment Sessions
We’ve included printable instructions that include steps in the experiment, along with a materials list and student graphic organisers to accompany the Christmas science experiments. These organisers are differentiated and have the following options.
- Early Years templates allow students to draw more than write.
- Upper-year templates allow students to write their observations and formulate their results statements.
These science experiments can be completed as a class or independently.
