Celebrate Authors Who Inspire During Book Week!

Great authors have the ability to transport us into new worlds through the creation of rich characters and compelling storylines. These authors capture our hearts and minds… as we read their books, we grow as people and are inspired to take on new challenges.

The theme for Book Week 2023 is ‘Read, Grow, Inspire’. What better way to celebrate this theme than to research authors who inspire us through the literature they create? This biography-themed flipbook has been created to guide your students through researching the life and works of an author they find inspiring. The flipbook contains the following pages:

  • Biography Brainstorm
    • What do you already know about the author?
    • What questions do you have about the author?
  • Bibliography
  • Career Timeline
  • Book Study and Review
  • Interesting Facts
    • What other hobbies or skills does that author have?
    • What inspired them to begin writing books?
    • Has this author received any awards for their work?
  • Books and Series
    • What books has the author written in their career so far?
    • Has the author written any series of collections of books?
  • Research Reflection
    • What text-to-text, text-to-self and text-to-world connections can you make to this author and their books?
    • What was your most useful source of information?
    • Why does this author inspire you?
    • If you had a question for this author, what would it be?

Once your students have finished their flipbook, be sure to display them in your classroom during Book Week so others can also be inspired by the life and works of these incredible authors!
