A poster showing information regarding the kiwi.
Print this Kiwi – New Zealand Animal Poster out and display it in your classroom when studying New Zealand animals.
Kiwis have very long beaks and brown feathers that look like fur. Kiwis cannot fly. Their wings are so small that they can barely be seen. Like rabbits, kiwis prefer to live in burrows in the ground.
Kiwis are nocturnal birds and feed mostly on worms and insects. They do not have great vision, but they can hear and smell very well. Kiwis are the only bird known to have external nostrils at the end of their beaks.
