Naidoc Week Inquiry Task

Included in this download is an Inquiry Task that is the perfect addition to your NAIDOC week lesson plans.

An inquiry research task to use in the classroom during NAIDOC Week.

This inquiry-based research task enables students to explore and celebrate the life of a significant First Nations Australian. Students imagine that they are presenting a speech at the National NAIDOC Awards.

To complete the task, they must:

  • choose an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person who has made a significant contribution to their field
  • research the life and achievements of the person they have chosen
  • plan, write and rehearse their speech
  • present their speech to the class.
