A cross-curricular inquiry task with an integrated English component

Students imagine that they are presenting a speech at the National NAIDOC Awards. To complete the task, they must:

• choose an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person who has made a significant contribution to their field
• research the life and achievements of the person they have chosen
• plan, write and rehearse their speech
• present their speech to the class.
