Auslan displays and resources

by Erin Boyle

With the recent roll out of Auslan in the Australian curriculum, I’m sure I’m not alone in needing some great Auslan resources, such as:
*Posters/ displays with common signs*
-Greetings (e.g. hello, good morning/ afternoon, how are you?, good, bad, happy, sad, my name is…, pleased to meet you etc.)
-songs, rhymes, poems
-animals
-general classroom/ school items (e.g. pencil, paper, scissors, glue, book, classroom, toilet etc.)
-common verbs (e.g. sit down, stand up, run, jump, skip, clap, dance, come here etc.)
-school subjects
-Question words – who, what, when, where, why, how etc.
-colours
-family
-weather
-food
-playground/ sport
-Days of week/ months of year

Any student activities around these topics also, e.g. worksheets, games etc.

Fingerspelling activities and games (you already have the Auslan alphabet which is really handy).

Resources that could be used from F-7.

I realise this is a long list, but I know there are a lot of Auslan teachers desperate for basics like the above. There is VERY little currently available online or in bookstores/ resource shops. I’d be happy for things to come out little by little!
(For me personally, I’m after the South Australian version of signs – the few resources that are available are most commonly NSW or Qld signs. Most signs are the same throughout Australia however)

Thank you! πŸ™‚

Daily English Drills

by Mary Vescio

For all years K-6 linking with the new Daily Maths Mentals generator which is fantastic. Thank you so much. Is there a way you can do something similar for English daily drills incorporating spelling including phonogram knowledge, grammar and punctuation, writing skills including editing, reading skills such as identifying a small passage as fiction, non fiction, text type etc. Just set out clearly like the maths but targeting specific essential skills and knowledge the students need to know. It would be a fantastic resource to have and accompany your new maths one.

Term Outcome Tracker

by Melissa Reskic

Hi,
Firstly thank you for your amazing resources, they have been great getting me started in my first year teaching my own class! πŸ™‚
I would love to have a per term tracker with the outcomes covering all KLA’s that way you can tick off what you managed to cover in one term and what you might need to catch up on in another term. It is hard trying to keep track of what you have and haven’t covered throughout all KLA’s and this would be an awesome way to be extra organised πŸ™‚

Thank you.

Geography units - Please

by Helena Sillence

I would love a unit for Year 4 Geography (well actually 4 units)

The main characteristics (e.g. climate, natural vegetation, landforms, native animals) of the continents of Africa and Europe, and the location of their major countries in relation to Australia

The importance of environments to animals and people, and different views on how they can be protected

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples’ ways of living were adapted to available resources and their connection to Country/Place has influenced their views on the sustainable use of these resources, before and after colonisation

The natural resources (e.g. water, timber, minerals) provided by the environment and different views on how they can be used sustainably
