A dice game in which students are given a challenging scenario and give advice using Captain Yet's optimistic solutions.

In this teaching resource, the characters Captain Yet and Pirate Nup have an important friendship. Pirate Nup often finds himself feeling helpless to the challenges of learning. Captain Yet is a fantastic friend who has a way to help Pirate Nup see that challenges often have solutions; they just may take time. The purpose of Captain Yet is to help students use a growth mindset approach to overcoming challenges and to use independent and resourceful strategies to find solutions.

This dice game is designed to help students recognise day-to-day challenges that students face. Scenarios range from problem-solving to self-motivation strategies. Students roll both dice and the number combination allocates them a problem scenario on the game grid. Students then use the worksheet task to advise Pirate Nup on how to tackle that challenge.
