resource Suggestion #3
MakeBeliefsComix.com by Bill Zimmerman
With the opening of the new school term, I am hoping that you might visit MakeBeliefsComix.com and perhaps work it into your story schedule — maybe for a piece on how digital comix-making tools help students express their ideas and their creativity by making comic strips.
I would be thankful if you could find a few minutes to take a look at our comix site and see all the changes we have made to make it even more useful to students, educators and parents. We’ve added more characters, created a new Current Events page, a new Family Fun with Comix page, a new Social and Emotional Learning Page and many new Comic Starters to help users get started. Comix are a valuable educational resource for kids.
There’s even a new interactive Pet Words section to encourage humans to talk with their pets by creating dialogue and thought balloons, which is a lot of fun. The Coronavirus Comic Starter we launched at the beginning of the pandemic also helped many students and teachers articulate their fears and concerns by making comic strip stories which can also be viewed on the site. And the new ”All About Me!” comic starter helps youngsters express their deepest thoughts and feelings by creating comix.
I feel the site is pioneering new ways of helping students develop writing and creativity skills through the vehicle of comic strips.
MakeBeliefsComix is an act of love for me, and while there are other comic generators around, we are, I think, the friendliest and the most fun. Perhaps, creative columnist that you are, comic lover that you are, you may find a way to share what we are doing with your readers. Thanks for considering this.
Best wishes to you,
