Celebrate Red Ribbon Week and create a fun 3D art display with a Red Ribbon Week Agamograph Craft Activity.

What Is An Agamograph? Let’s Check It Out!

Agamographs are interactive artworks or sculptures that showcase different images or patterns when viewed from different angles. The name “agamograph” derives from Yaacov Agam, an Israeli artist who popularized this art form.

Agamographs normally consist of multiple images that are layered or interleaved in a way that, when the observer shifts their viewpoint by tilting or moving the artwork, the images appear to change or transition from one scene to another. This creates an illusion of movement  within the artwork.

Create the Perfect 3-D Red Ribbon Week Bulletin Board!

This printable agamograph template is the perfect activity to build out a fun Red Ribbon Week bulletin board. To create the agamographs,

  1. Color the agamograph template, making sure to color alternating panels the correct or same colors as the others that complete that image.
  2. Cut out the rectangle.
  3. Use a ruler to crease and accordion fold the agamograph template.
  4. Stretch the folded agamograph so that the pictures line up and are viewable from both the right and left sides.
  5. Mount the agamograph to colored paper. Using a small loop of masking tape works well for mounting them without pressing the folds flat.

You can create a full bulletin board of mesmerizing 3D artworks just in time for Red Ribbon Week!
