Explore Motion With a Toy Sorting Activity!

Get your students thinking, moving, and learning with this fun, hands-on toy sorting activity! Designed for early learners, this Toy Sorting Activity helps children explore how different objects move while building foundational science and classification skills.

Using everyday toy examples in kid-friendly illustrations, students will begin to explore how objects can move in different ways depending on their shape and design.

Sort It Out! Does It Roll, Slide, or Bounce?

This engaging activity includes 36 picture cards featuring common toys. Students will:

  • Examine each toy and think about how it can move
  • Sort the cards into one of three categories: roll, slide, or bounce
  • Discuss and explain their reasoning with peers

The set also includes three sorting headers for easy organization and an answer key for quick checking. This activity is perfect for science centres, small groups, or as an independent warm-up focused on movement and physical properties.
