❤️ 📚 Encourage a Love of Reading with Library Displays

This bulletin board idea will encourage students to read a book a day! The monster-themed classroom or hallway display set includes everything you need for this classroom theme or to add some monstrously good fun to your Halloween-time literacy lessons.

Challenge your students to read a book each day. After they have read a book, let them draw a picture of the cover on the template and rate the book out of 5 stars! Attach all the book reviews to the bulletin board for everyone to see all the reading your students are doing!

🖨️ 📌 Easily Prepare This Book Review Bulletin Board

Use the Download button to download the colour PDF version of this resource.

This teaching resource includes:

  • A Book a Day Keeps the Monsters Away (letter set)
  • 4 “Today I read…” book review templates
  • monsters and book cutouts (for decoration).

Print a handful of the book review templates on paper and cut them out. Leave them in an accessible place so students can grab one when needed.

Print all of the display pieces on cardstock for added durability and longevity. After finishing the display, you can place all pieces in a folder or large envelope for easy access and reuse next school year.

To personalise your students’ bulletin board or door display, let them choose a monster to write their name on with a permanent marker. Attach each student’s monster to a clothespin and attach them to the display. Each time a student has read a book and completed a review, they can clip their review to their monster! Even your reluctant readers will be reading up a storm!
