Boost science inquiry skills and teach students how to ask scientific questions with an engaging Asking Investigable Questions Activity Pack.
Asking Testable Questions Activity Pack
Support your students as they move beyond simple observations and begin asking strong, testable scientific questions with this Asking Testable Questions Activity Pack. Designed for upper primary learners, this resource helps students practise turning what they see into questions that can be tested, measured, and explored through investigation.
This Asking Testable Questions Activity Pack is ideal for developing inquiry skills at the beginning of the year or before launching independent science investigations.
View Cause and Effect Relationships & Ask Scientific Questions
Students will examine a set of real-world images showing cause-and-effect relationships in nature, such as:
- Flooding and erosion
- Animals using camouflage
- Changes to land
- Environmental interactions and issues
Using the task cards, students will write their own investigable questions based on each picture shown. The image prompts encourage students to learn the difference between interesting questions and testable ones.
This pack includes:
- 24 image-based task cards
- A student recording sheet for writing questions
- Suggested answers to support teacher modelling and discussion
