Blend Science and Reading With Year 5 Reading Comprehension Worksheets!

Sometimes, there’s just not enough time in the school day to cover all those curriculum standards across all learning areas. Clever teachers know how to work smarter by integrating multiple learning areas into one learning activity. A great example of this is by teaching science content through reading comprehension passages!

This States of Matter worksheet pack is a great example of such integration. It enables students to build up their scientific knowledge of the concepts of matter, solids, liquids and gases while also improving their reading comprehension and vocabulary skills.

Read & Learn With Our Three Forms of Matter Worksheet Pack!

This printable resource consists of four reading passages and reading comprehension worksheets designed to boost your students’ scientific knowledge surrounding solids, liquids and gases. Each one-page passage is written on a Year 5 Reading level and includes a 10 question reading comprehension test to follow. These worksheets make great in-class assignments, homework assignments, and even small group reading activities. We have included the following Forms of Matter worksheets:

  • All About Solids Reading Passage with Questions
  • All About Liquids Reading Passage with Questions
  • All About Gases Reading Passage with Questions
