Identify examples of goods and services with a colouring activity.

Identifying Goods and Services in the Community

Use this colour-coding worksheet when learning about goods and services in the local community. Students are required to identify each item, them colour the goods red and the services blue.

The goods and services that must be colour-coded are:

  • Goods: bag, apple, phone, kite, ring, t-shirt.
  • Services: teacher, doctor, bus service, vet, taxi, baker.

Tips for Extension and Support

A team of dedicated, experienced educators created this resource to support your Social Studies lessons.

If you have a mixture of above and below-level learners, check out these suggestions for keeping students on track with the concepts:

🆘 Support Struggling Students

To set students up for success, conduct a class or small-group discussion about the images and the key vocabulary prior to completing the worksheet.

➕ Challenge Fast Finishers

Encourage fast finishers to draw pictures of additional examples of goods and services in their workbooks. Have them swap these with a partner to be colour-coded.
