Identify proper clothing choices for different weather conditions with a clothing and climate matching activity.

☀️ Dress for the Weather ❄️

Are your students learning about different types of weather? Choosing the proper type of clothing is an important life skill to learn. With this matching activity, students will identify the proper clothing choices for various types of weather. To complete this activity, students will sort and match 18 clothing items (raincoats, sandals, swimsuits, etc.) with photographs of different climates (eg. farm, desert, mountains, beach, etc.).

An answer key is included with your download to make grading fast and easy!

Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding

Fast finishers can draw a picture of a person dressed for a specific weather type and describe the clothing choices they drew and why they chose them.

For students who may need additional support, consider giving more example pictures of each weather type. Teachers may consider printing some picture cards (ex. a person dressed for winter weather while standing outside in the snow) to help students identify each weather type.
