International Women’s Day (IWD) is a great opportunity for teachers to celebrate the achievements and contributions of women throughout history and across the world. We’ve got a load of new resources coming for you to add to your ideas and even your biographical unit plans!

There are many ways teachers can celebrate International Women’s Day, here are a couple of ideas:

  • Highlight inspiring women. Share stories of inspiring women throughout history. This can also include discussing the challenges they faced and how they overcame them.
  • Encourage your students to reflect on their own experiences as women and girls, and give them a space to share their thoughts and feelings.
  • Celebrate diversity of women by showcasing women from different cultural backgrounds who have different experiences and careers.

This worksheet pack all about Cathy Freeman includes a comprehension passage, fill-in-the-blank exercises, writing prompts, word searches, plus much more.
