What Are Compound Nouns? Compound Words?

Is there a difference between a compound noun and a compound word? Not really…a compound noun is simply a compound word that is built from two nouns, like the word ‘doghouse’. The general term compound word can refer to any combination of parts of speech used to create a compound word.
