Build a Remembrance Day Timeline from Beginning to End
This cut-and-paste Remembrance Day worksheet is a breeze to implement. We recommend the following when you use it in class.
- Discuss the history and meaning of Remembrance Day as a whole-class exercise. Explain the idea of a timeline and its role in visualising the record of events.
- Hand out the two pieces of the assignment. Each student should get the blank timeline sheet and a sheet of statements to be cut apart.
- Instruct students to cut out the statements and place them on the timeline correctly.
- Encourage students to discuss each event’s significance as they place it on the timeline. Prompt them to recall why each event was a necessary step toward creating the holiday.
We also recommend providing your students with reading materials or online resources to research and check their answers as they complete the assignment.
