Identify different insulators and conductors of electrical energy with this worksheet.

What are Insulators and Conductors?

Insulators are materials that do not allow electrical current to flow through them. Conductors are materials that allow electricity to flow through them.

Use this worksheet as a consolidation task or summative assessment when teaching your students about electrical insulators and conductors.

Students will use what they have learned about the properties of various materials and determine whether they are insulators or conductors by circling the relevant pictures. The materials include:

  • plastic
  • cotton
  • copper
  • oil
  • rubber
  • wood
  • gold
  • silver
  • aluminium
  • tap water
  • steel
  • diamond
