Think about sweet things you can say to others that are kind and display the finished cupcakes in your classroom as a kindness display.

Kindness is Sweet – Kindness Display

Use this cupcake-themed kindness activity with your students on World Kindness Day, Random Acts of Kindness week or any day through the school year. Discuss how what we say to people can really affect them. Saying sweet, kind things to our friends and others is an act of showing kindness.

In this kindness activity, students need to think of something kind they can say to someone and write it down. Then, they need to colour, cut out and assemble the cupcake. This forms the perfect kindness display for your classroom! A sweet, bright warm hug!

Alternatively, these can form the perfect gift for our friends on World Kindness Day!

✂️ Give Them the (Safety) Scissors

This template makes for a bonus cutting skills activity, depending on your students’ ages and abilities.

With adult supervision, cutting skills help students work multiple muscle groups and their brains, plus:

  • strengthen finger and hand muscles
  • build dexterity and fine motor skills
  • improve hand-eye coordination
  • develop focus and attention.

And all of these skills are necessary to use a pencil and a fork; button a shirt and tie shoes; write, type and swipe.

Scissor skills are brain and muscle skills!
