Have you been teaching your Year 6 students how to use the order of operations? If so, you may be approaching the end of the unit and need to give them a comprehensive assessment covering various questions related to this algebraic thinking standard. However, creating such an assessment can be time-consuming and difficult. But don’t worry, we can help! It’s Time to Give an Order of Operations Test! 

This year, we have got you covered for the testing season with a fully editable Order of Operations test! This printable assessment is an ideal tool to assess the mastery of the order of operations for Year 6 students. The test consists of 15 easy-to-read questions to help you evaluate your students’ knowledge. During the test, your students will demonstrate their understanding of the following:

  • Solving expressions using the order of operations
  • Writing algebraic expressions based on a word-based description
  • Placing parentheses and exponents in expressions so that they produce a given number.
  • Determining the symbols needed in an expression in order to solve it.
