Form Sets of Six With Random Student Grouping Cards

Make grouping your students quick, fair, and completely hassle‑free with this set of Printable Random Student Grouping Cards designed specifically for forming equal groups of six. Perfect for any primary classroom, these cards help you create balanced, random groups in seconds.

Each student receives a card featuring an image from a themed category, and their job is to find the five classmates whose cards belong to the same category.

Create Groups Based on Categories

This set includes a variety of fun, kid‑friendly categories such as:

  • sports equipment
  • toys
  • jobs
  • desserts
  • vehicles

To use the cards:

  1. Hand out one card to each student.
  2. Students move around the room, looking for classmates whose cards belong to the same category.
  3. Once six students with matching categories find each other, they form a complete group.

If your class size isn’t divisible by six, simply allow one group to include an extra member or two.
