The start of a new school year is an exciting time for both students and teachers alike. It’s crucial to set a strong foundation for learning, especially in Year 1 maths. By incorporating engaging maths review activities, students can start the academic year off on the right foot. These activities focus on essential mathematical concepts such as counting and fundamental maths strategies.

Search, Find and Tally the School Supplies!

In this Back to School activity, students locate and tally the School Supply icons in the scene provided.

A black-and-white version is provided for students to colour in themselves.

As an extension, students might like to create a relevant graph to display the tallies.

The activity also works well as a brain break, both in the classroom as well as virtually! Simply display the image on the screen and see how quickly students can find each one!
