🐌 Slow and Steady Wins the Race – Odd and Even Properties

This worksheet has been designed to engage students in a fun and interactive activity that reinforces their understanding of the properties of odd and even numbers. In this worksheet, students will use their knowledge to determine whether the results of sums are odd or even and then colour a pathway to guide the snail home.

If students know the rules around calculating odd and even numbers, they can focus purely on those rules rather than working out the answer to determine if the result is odd or even.

Odd and Even Rules When Calculating

Understanding the different rules that apply to odd and even numbers when you add, subtract, multiply, and divide is crucial to understanding odd and even numbers.

To help students along that journey – we also have this Odd and Even Properties Poster Set which outlines each of the rules for each of the operations.

Use the dropdown menu to choose between the easily printed PDF document or the editable Google Slide version; you can then edit the sums to suit your students’ needs.

An answer sheet is also included in this download.
