Practise Telling Time to the Minute With Poke Cards

Let your students expand their maths skills with our set of time-to-the-minute poke cards. This fun, self-checking activity will allow students to receive feedback right away!

To play, students will read the clock on each card, poke their pencil through the hole under the correct answer, record their answer on their answer sheet, and flip over the card to see if they are correct.

Students will show that they understand how to tell time to the nearest minute through this activity.

Modify and Differentiate Your Telling Time Game

If you have a mixture of above and below-level learners, check out these suggestions for keeping students on track with the concepts:

🆘 Support Struggling Students

Help students who need help understanding the concepts by eliminating one of the answer choices. Students can choose from two options rather than three. Additionally, provide access to handheld clocks and/or dry erase boards if needed.

➕ Challenge Fast Finishers

Encourage students who need more of a challenge to write the times of the
Remaining clocks on each card.

🛴 Scoot Activity

Place the cards around the room in numerical order and give each student a recording sheet. Assign students or pairs to a starting point card. Give students time to review the card and record their answers in the corresponding space on their paper. Students will rotate to the next card when you say, “SCOOT!” Continue in this manner until students return to their starting point.
