Sort Halloween Digraphs and colour them by code with a fun Halloween Phonics worksheet.
What Are Initial Digraphs? Lets Review!
Practising initial word sounds opens the reading floodgates for teaching students how to decode unfamiliar words.
But sometimes, initial sounds in words aren’t just 1 letter.
Sometimes, they’re 2. We call these initial digraphs (or beginning digraphs)—2 letter combinations that make 1 sound, like ch, th, sh, and wh.
A Fun and Engaging Halloween Phonics Activity
With our Initial Digraphs worksheet, students will analyse a series of words and determine the digraphs used in each. They will then colour the Halloween treats using the colour code to match their correct bags.
