🏂 Show Your Tricks Knowing Numbers Divisible by 2

Engage students in showing their knowledge of even and divisible numbers by 2 with this fun snowboarding-themed activity. Students sort the snowboarders into the correct resorts based on the numbers on their boards.

This understanding of numbers divisible by 2 is a fundamental concept in mathematics. Learning about divisibility by 2 is the first step in understanding even and odd numbers. Even numbers are all divisible by 2, while odd numbers are not. This basic concept provides a foundation for more advanced mathematical concepts.

How to Use This Resource in the Classroom

Once you’ve prepared this resource, it’s a fantastic sorting activity that works perfectly as an individual hands-on activity or for small groups to work together. Students need to look at the snowboard numbers and sort the snowboarders into the correct resorts – divisible by two or not divisible by 2.

To change it up a bit, you could also use this activity for a whole class for a quick check-in. Each student can be given a snowboarder, and the resort pictures can be displayed at the front of the classroom. Each student is invited to come and place their snowboarder in the correct resort. This can then be kept up as a display for the remaining lessons on divisibility as a visual reminder to your students.
