Persuasive Writing Worksheets That Improve Writing Skills

Using This Persuasive Writing Worksheet Pack in Your ELA Lessons

One of the great advantages of this persuasive writing worksheet pack is that three separate persuasive texts are provided. You might like to use one for each of the following activities:

• Whole-Class Modeling – Choose one of the texts to display on your interactive whiteboard. As a class, read through the text, then list some persuasive techniques that could be applied to make the argument more convincing. Create a joint construction to expand the simple arguments with extended reasons and examples.
• Partner Activity – Using another persuasive text from the pack, have the students work in pairs to improve it. Encourage collaboration and discussion around which rhetorical devices could work most effectively within the text. Afterwards, have pairs share their texts with the class.
• Independent Writing – Have the students work independently to uplevel the final text. For an extra challenge, have them write a list of all the persuasive techniques they added, explaining the effect each device has on the reader.
