Celebrate Red Ribbon Week with this Owl Craft and writing activity!

Celebrate with Red Ribbon Week Craft Activities!

Make a difference in your community and fight the war on drugs! Celebrate national Red Ribbon Week this October with activities from Teach Starter.

This red ribbon craft activity is perfect for drug awareness month, Red Ribbon Week, or any time you want to teach your students about drug prevention. Students will assemble an owl, write a paragraph about why they choose to be drug free and what they hope to accomplish by sticking to that promise.

You could even have your students make a whole parliament of owls, and create an amazing Red Ribbon week bulletin board!

✂️ Give Them the (Safety) Scissors

This template makes for a bonus cutting skills activity, depending on your students’ ages and abilities.

With adult supervision, cutting skills help students work multiple muscle groups and their brains, plus:

  • Strengthen finger and hand muscles
  • Build dexterity and fine motor skills
  • Improve hand-eye coordination
  • Develop focus and attention

And all of these skills are necessary to use a pencil and a fork; button a shirt and tie shoes; write, type and swipe.

Scissor skills are brain and muscle skills!
