A Hands-On Prepositions Activity Pack
If you’re looking for a fun and unique way to get your students identifying prepositions and prepositional phrases in sentences, then this read-and-draw activity pack is for you!
Designed for elementary students, this engaging resource features six differentiated read-and-draw activities that challenge learners to follow step-by-step instructions to create visual scenes. As they complete each drawing, students identify and list the prepositions used, reinforcing their comprehension through both visual and written practice.
Here is an example set of instructions taken from one of the preposition activity sheets:
- Draw a house in the middle of the page.
- Draw a tree next to the house.
- Draw a sun above the house.
- Draw clouds near the sun.
- Draw a bird in the sky.
And so on!
This preposition activity sheet pack downloads as an easy-print PDF or editable Google Slides file.
Differentiated Preposition Activities for Grammar Lessons
To make this activity accessible to students of all abilities, we’ve provided six differentiated tasks inside this preposition activity sheet pack. It includes:
- Two worksheets for lower-ability students
- Two worksheets for on-level students
- Two worksheets for upper-ability students.
The number and complexity of the instructions vary according to the task’s level of difficulty.
To make it easier for teachers to identify the differentiated versions (but not so obvious to the students!), a star system has been used. The more stars, the harder the worksheet!
Whether you need a supplemental grammar resource, a hands-on learning activity or a creative way to reinforce prepositional phrases, these worksheets are a perfect fit!
