Make a flock of silly turkey crafts and review place value concepts with a printable Place Value Turkey Template!

Math + Turkey Crafts = Thanksgiving Fun!

Get ready to have some fun making Goofy Gobbler turkey crafts with your students this year! We’ve put together the perfect template to help your students review 2-and-3 digit place values, expanded forms, and number models with this fun and funky Turkey Template!

This Thanksgiving turkey has gone bald! He has no feathers, and your students must use their place value knowledge to add what he needs and ensure he’s not naked on Thanksgiving Day! This turkey template requires students to

  • Draw a number and determine the value of each digit.
  • Write a two or three-digit number in its expanded form
  • Model a two or three-digit number using base ten blocks.
  • Arrange blocks to create a feather display on a fun Thanksgiving Turkey template.

Use this turkey template printable to assess your student’s abilities to take numbers apart into their place values and write them in expanded form.

Try This With Your Goofy Gobbler Turkey Template Printable!

  • Have your students roll dice and generate their numbers instead of drawing the number cards.
  • Once all of the turkeys are complete, challenge your students to a Thanksgiving Math-Off in which teams compete to place the turkeys in order from greatest to least.
  • Use your printer’s scaling feature to shrink your turkeys to 75%, print them and make a flock of tiny turkeys. Hang them around the room like task cards, and have your students participate in a Thanksgiving Scoot game by moving around and writing the numbers in their corresponding word forms.
