Presidents' Day Matching Activity
A matching activity to use around Presidents’ Day or Independence Day.
This matching activity is perfect to use around Presidents’ Day! Students will match random facts to presidents.
Here are some fun ways to use this resource:
Matching Game – Students flip all cards over and play a game of matching. They have to remember which fact goes to which president AND where the cards are located!
Game Show Quiz – Students can participate in a game show! Provide the students with a set of cards and a buzzer (if you have one). One student is the game show host and reads either the president’s name or the fact. The game show contestants must try to be the first person to ‘buzz in’ their answer!
Creative Writing Prompts – What if it was George Washington who signed the Emancipation Proclamation? What if the Space Center in Houston, TX was named after Barack Obama instead of Lyndon B. Johnson? Students can choose two cards at random, one president and one fact, and ‘rewrite’ history by combining the two facts!
Use the drop-down menu to choose between the color or black and white versions.

We create premium quality, downloadable teaching resources for primary/elementary school teachers that make classrooms buzz!
