Review vocabulary and concepts related to the properties of rocks that allow for natural resource storage with a printable or digital Finding Natural Resources Cloze Activity.
Review Key Concepts With a Natural Resources Cloze Activity
Help your fourth graders dig up and review what they know about the role rocks play in storing Earth’s natural resources with this printable or digital Natural Resources Cloze activity. This Natural Resources Cloze Activity makes it easy for students to demonstrate and review their knowledge of rocks and how they store natural resources deep within the Earth.
We’ve designed two variations of this resource (a printable passage and a drag-and-drop interactive activity) to support the following TEKS and NGSS standards:
- S.4.11.C – The student will be able to determine the physical properties of rocks that allow Earth’s natural resources to be stored there,
- 4-ESS3-1. Obtain and combine information to describe that energy and fuels are derived from natural resources and their uses affect the environment.
This digitally enhanced cloze activity gives your students a fun and engaging way to review what they have learned about natural resource storage on Earth.
Digital & Printable Rocks & Fossil Fuels Cloze Passage
With this digital Rocks & Fossil Fuels Cloze Passage, students are introduced to Dr. Rockwell, a scientist needing help completing a report about rocks and the properties that allow them to store underground resources such as water and fossil fuels. To complete the activity, students will drag and drop related vocabulary words into the passage to finish the report for Dr. Rockwell.
For those who prefer to step back and complete this activity in a traditional paper-and-pencil format, we have also included a printable cloze passage that reviews the same concepts. An answer key is included.
