Simple Sentence Dominoes - Set 1
A set of 30 dominoes to assist younger students with building simple sentences.
This interactive, hands-on activity is a great way for your students to practice making simple sentence. Play the game during your guided writing groups or put it in your writing center!
Students match the dominoes creating a simple sentence that makes sense, e.g. I go to school, I love my family, Our dog is playful. For many of the dominoes, there is more than one possible answer.
A set of instructions is included in this resource.
Common Core Curriculum alignment
- CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.1.1.C
Use singular and plural nouns with matching verbs in basic sentences (e.g., He hops; We hop).
- CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.2.1.F
Produce, expand, and rearrange complete simple and compound sentences (e.g., The boy watched the movie; The little boy watched the movie; The action movie was watched by the little boy).
