Thanksgiving is coming up, and what better way to celebrate is by integrating the idea of thankfulness into every subject? We’ve put together a fun Thanksgiving-themed multiplication activity to help fourth graders practice multiplying 1 and 2-digit numbers.

Students read the multiplication word problem task card and reference the menu for Granny’s restaurant to determine the cost of individual items.. They will then use scratch paper to solve the problem and record their answers on the included recording sheet.

An answer sheet is included with your download for students to self-check their answers.

A Seasonal Sprinkle of Math Problems for 4th Graders

A team of dedicated, experienced educators created this resource for students to work on independently in your Thanksgiving math center. But there are many ways you can use this resource in the classroom.

🏫 Whole Class Multiplication for 4th Graders

Project the task cards and menu on a whiteboard and work through each together, discussing different ways of approaching and completing the problems.

🧮 Small Group Thanksgiving Math Center

Teach concepts in a small group setting. Students can use mini whiteboards to “show and share” their work for each problem.

✏️ Independent Practice Activity

For an independent task, students can use their math notebooks or a mini whiteboard to solve the problems on the task cards.
