Discover the Four Seasons with a Comprehension Activity

Get ready for the upcoming seasonal shift and your unit on the seasons of the year with an introduction to the four seasons. Start the week with a look into what happens with each seasonal shift and how plants and animals react to the changes in nature. Have students pay attention to detail while reading the decodable text and then draw and write to demonstrate comprehension.

This activity is designed for first and second-grade students, and it would make an excellent introductory activity for your Weather Unit

Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding

In addition to independent student work time, use this worksheet as an activity for:

  • Lesson warm-up
  • Lesson wrap-up
  • Fast finishers

🚀Engage your fast finishers by providing them with additional four seasons of the year books to read and enjoy in the classroom.

🆘Differentiate for your struggling readers and writers by completing the activity in a shared reading setting or as an individual reading activity in small groups.
