4-Digit Place Value – Assessment
An open-ended worksheet to use when assessing your students’ knowledge of place value to the thousands.
Use this assessment in conjunction with the Exploring 4-Digit Place Value Unit Plan.
Students are required to explore a 4-digit number in regards to the following place value concepts:
- writing in words
- drawing using MAB blocks
- partitioning
- writing in expanded notation
- rounding to 10 and 100
- 10, 100, 1000 more and less
- greater than and less than.
The choice of number can be decided upon by the teacher and written in the oval space at the top of the assessment.
