Alphabet Handwriting Sheets - Individual
Handwriting sheets for each letter of the alphabet.
Use these handwriting sheets to help your students to learn the structure and process when it comes to handwriting.
Students are required to trace over the letters and words and then write them again on the lines below. They need to try to keep their letters between the lines provided.
If you have students who struggle with letter reversal, read our blog – Why Students Reverse Letters – A Guide for Teachers (Mirror Writing).

When we write on dotted thirds our letters all sit on the bottom solid line, tall letters go to the 2nd dotted third, small letters to the first dotted third and tails go below the solid line to to dotted third below. Do you have any handwriting resources that use this format?
Donna Martin · Sep 10th, 2020
Hi Donna,
Yes! Many of our handwriting resources have Victorian versions that use dotted thirds in the way you have described. Use the drop-down menu to select a VIC version and then click download.
Alternatively, you can create your own handwriting pages using the Handwriting Sheet widget.

Hello, do you know if there is a blank handwriting sheet similar to this that we can print to add along to this resource?
Jeremy Yeo · Jun 3rd, 2020
Hi Jeremy,
I’d suggest using our Handwriting Sheet Widget.
You can leave the Content field blank and choose the correct font lines that are used by your school.
The widget will generate a PDF that is laid out just like this resource.
If you need any assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us!

Please could you do these sheets be produced using the solid line as the base as that’s the way we do it in WA.
Tracey Jackson · Feb 14th, 2020
Hi Tracey,
Thank you for your comment! So we can keep all of our suggestions and requests together, can you please submit a change request to this resource using the Changes & Updates tab above? This tab can be found near the comments section.
Thanks again!

Hi Tracey I am also a WA teacher. I watched the video in the green link below. Then used the widget to make my own handwriting sheet. After lots of attempts, I found that making ONLY the 3rd line solid and the rest dotted, the letters will sit on the solid line. I hope this makes sense.
Sian Kelly · Feb 18th, 2020
Hi Sian, thank you for your suggestion. Perhaps that might work for some people.
Janeen · Feb 19th, 2020
Hi Lidia,
Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate you letting us know your concerns and we will keep working to find a solution.
Paul (Teach Starter) · Feb 11th, 2020
I have tried these also but it only gives you the option for first and fourth lines together so I am unable to manipulate it have the letters sitting on solid lines.
Heather Lawson · Feb 6th, 2018
Hi Heather,
Have you tried manipulating the second line and third line options in the handwriting widget?
These are the lines the letters sit on and there is an option to make them solid lines and even change their colour. If you want to get rid of any lines, I suggest changing the colour to white.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you require any further assistance.

I too would like the SA font on the solid line!
Heather Lawson · Feb 5th, 2018
Hello Heather. I’m not sure if you are aware of our brilliant handwriting worksheet maker! It is fully customisable with font preference as well as line colour, type and even more. You can even adjust the font colouring to make them traceable. This link will take you to a blog article which can tell you more:

Hi
Love these worksheets but could the SA font be put onto the bottom solid line rather than the dotted line?
Thanks

Could this resource possibly be put into Sassoon font?
Thanks 🙂
Rachel Pirovic-Moss · Aug 7th, 2015
Hi Rachel,
We have added Sassoon font to this resource.
Kind regards
Jill
Jill (Teach Starter) · Sep 14th, 2015
Hi,
Could this be put onto the normal blue dotted thirds? I’m in WA and we use the bottom third as our base rather than the second third. I love these resources however can’t use them as it models it wrong to my students.
Thanks
Megan Povey · Feb 23rd, 2015
agreed, the dotted lines aren’t the WA standard type.
alex miller · May 29th, 2016
I would love this in VIC pre cursive. We also teach using kicks and joiners. Thanks
maria nedelkovski · Sep 21st, 2014
I would love this in SA pre -cursive! We teach our Foundation (Reception/Prep) students using the ‘kicks’ at our school.
Sarah Davis · May 22nd, 2014
Hi Sarah,
Thanks for the suggestion. We have added SA pre-cursive and it is available to download now.
Kind regards
Scott
