## Force and Motion Games for Year 4 Students

If you’re looking for an engaging way to review forces and motion vocabulary with your students (with just a dash of healthy competition thrown into the mix as well!), then look no further than Teach Starter’s forces and motion Bingo game!

So, how does this engaging forces and motion game work?

Imagine traditional Bingo, but instead of numbers, the Bingo game boards feature a range of force and motion vocabulary terms. As the teacher, you step into the role of the caller and read out definitions or descriptions of these terms using the cards provided. Players, armed with their Bingo game boards, mark off the corresponding squares when they recognise the matching term. The objective is simple: be the first to achieve five squares in a row, whether horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, and call out “Bingo!” to claim victory.

The forces and motion vocabulary terms included in this resource are: force, friction, gravity, magnetism, motion, pull, push, attract, repel, at rest, position, work.

• Teacher instructions
• 25 Bingo game boards
• 24 calling cards

The file can be accessed as either an easy-print PDF or as an editable Google Slides file.

1. Reinforces Vocabulary – This force and motion game is an engaging way to reinforce key force and motion vocabulary terms. Students have to recognize and understand the terms to win the game.
2. Active Participation – Students are active participants in their learning as they listen to the calling cards and apply their knowledge of these concepts to the game. This active engagement enhances their understanding.

(Note: You will be prompted to make a copy of the Google Slides template on your personal drive before accessing it.)

We recommend printing the Bingo game boards on cardstock to increase the durability of the resource. Place all components of the game into a large envelope or ziplock bag for safekeeping.
