Classroom Expectations Are the Key to a Great School Year!

As teachers, we all know how important it is to start the school year off on the right foot. By clearly laying out what we expect from our pupils, we can create a positive and structured setting that helps everyone learn and develop. And, if we make sure to teach and display our expectations explicitly, it can really help drive the message home. So, let’s team up and create a classroom where everyone feels welcome and supported and where students can really shine.

Display these printable classroom posters at the beginning of the school year to provide students with a visual of your classroom expectations.

Pages 1 and 2 create a banner that reads “In this class we…”, and pages 3–5 display the expectations:

  • show kindness
  • show excellence
  • show responsibility

To make this an active display, provide each student with a speech bubble to write examples of how to show kindness, excellence, and responsibility. Then, display the speech bubbles around the posters.

Could this resource be made editable to change the words to fit individual school values?
