Motivate Your Students To Start Reading!

‘I can’t find a book.’

‘I don’t know what to read.’

‘Nothing looks good to me.’

Sometimes students struggle when choosing a book to read. Sometimes they can’t decide, and sometimes they don’t want to!

Use this quick and easy resource to make their choice a bit easier.

How To Create This Book Suggestions Jar

To create the resource, follow the quick and easy instructions below!

  1. Stick a label on a small jar (bonus points if you use a fishbowl!).
  2. Fill out the fish templates with some of your favourite age-appropriate books for the students in your class. Each fish gets the title of a book, the author, and the genre.
  3. When students come to you with one of the dreaded sentences above, tell them to go fishing for a book!
