Explore movement and make science predictions with our Make It Move! Slope Investigation Slideshow and recording sheet.
Explore Movement & Make Science Predictions With Ease!
Make scientific prediction simple, visual, and engaging for early learners with this interactive Google Slides movement investigation activity. Designed especially for early years classrooms, this slide deck helps students slow down, look closely, and think like scientists as they predict how everyday objects will move.
With real-world images and an easy-to-use format, you can easily guide rich scientific discussions or use the slides as a quick, low-prep science warm-up.
Predict the Movement of Objects Down a Slope
This slide deck includes 24 high-interest object images, each shown at the top of a slope. Students observe the object and predict how it will move when released.
For each slide, students decide whether the object will:
- Roll
- Slide
- Tumble
- Spin
- Bounce
The activity encourages students to:
- Make and justify predictions
- Use descriptive movement vocabulary
- Discuss shape, surface, and material properties
- Compare predictions with actual outcomes (if tested hands-on)
An answer key and recording sheet are also included, allowing your students to record their predictions independently.
