Drag and drop to identify the three states of matter with a set of interactive clip cards.
Dive Into The Discovery of Solids, Liquids, and Gases
Encourage your students to explore the fascinating world of matter with digital learning! This interactive science activity allows them to drag, drop and discover different materials representing the three states of matter. By using this engaging resource, students will actively engage in the scientific process—observing, recording—while deepening their understanding of how matter takes different states. This interactive activity helps make an abstract scientific concept more concrete and relevant, inspiring scientific curiosity and critical thinking.
Solids, Liquids and Gases – Drag and Drop Interactive Clip Cards
To further explore the concept of solids, liquids, and gases, the Teach Starter team has created this set of 24 digital clip cards, each containing an image of a solid, liquid, or gas object. The students must look at the image and decide which is correct, then drag a bubble over the correct answer.
Some of the objects depicted in the resource are:
- soft drink
- milk
- helium
- chair
- steam
- and more!

This resource downloads as an editable Google Slides file. Simply project it onto your screen, and you have a ready-made activity for exploring the wonders of matter with your students! This resource must remain in EDIT mode, not presentation mode, to interact with the bubbles.
This resource was created by Kaylyn Chupp, a teacher in Florida and Teach Starter collaborator.
