Research different systems of government around the world with this inquiry-based project.
Student-Led Inquiry Into Systems of Government
Australia, as well as many other countries, has a democratic system of government. However, there are many different types of government systems around the world.
Through this research-based inquiry task, students will research the government of another country and compare it with Australia. They will then use the information they have collected to create an infographic poster summarising their chosen country’s system of government.
Students are encouraged to explore the following:
- Current leaders
- System of government
- Parliamentary systems (if any)
- Laws and law-making processes
- Differences from Australia
- Similarities to Australia
This resource download includes:
- Instructions for students
- 2 x planning sheets
Suggested Adaptations for this Governments Project
While an infographic poster is the suggested mode of presentation for this project, teachers (and students) should not feel restricted by this!
Students love having control over their learning. They also love having choices! One of the easiest ways to do this is to provide options when it comes to presenting research. Why not encourage your students to present their project using one of these alternate methods:
- Podcast
- Webpage
- Digital presentation
- Drama presentation
- Comic strip
- And many more!
