Tangram Activity
A poster showing examples of tangram shapes and a tangram template.
Tangrams are a lot of fun and they give children a great opportunity to use their imagination and creativity.
Use this poster as inspiration for your students and then supply them with a tangram template to make their own shapes.

This looks like an excellent resource to use as a way to develop students’ understanding of fractions.
I am going to use this with grade 5 for them to estimate the fractional proportion of each shape, then create a tangram picture. From this students estimate the proportion of the tangram used for the head, roof, etc of their construction.
