Year 4 Multiplication Strategies Flipbook for Building Multiplication Confidence
Developing fluency with multiplication involves more than memorising facts. Students benefit from learning a range of strategies that help them solve problems efficiently while deepening their understanding of number relationships. This Year 4 multiplication strategies flipbook introduces students to five powerful multiplication strategies: partitioning, derived facts, doubling and halving, multiples of 10 and area models.
As students assemble the flipbook, they create a personalised reference tool that explains when and how to use each strategy. Each section includes a strategy explanation, worked example and space for students to record key information. By constructing and interacting with their own flipbook, students engage more deeply with the concepts and create a useful resource they can revisit throughout the year.
The completed flipbook serves as an ongoing support tool, helping students select efficient strategies, explain their thinking and develop confidence when solving multiplication problems.
