‘I Have A Dream’ Craft — Curriculum Goals

Use this worksheet to support your lesson on civil rights activist Martin Luther King, Jr.’s historic “I Have A Dream” speech.

This is a 3-page MLK Day-inspired worksheet in which students will independently complete four sentence stems:

My dream for my community is…

My dream for myself is…

My dream for my school is…

My dream for this world is…

By completing this activity, students demonstrate an ability to write details that describe their actions, thoughts, and feelings.

Assemble Your Dream Clouds Into A Beautiful Mobile

Once their writing is complete, students use string or yarn to attach their response clouds to the bottom of the ‘I Have a Dream’ cloud so that they hang at various lengths. Suspend each unique creation in your classroom as a reminder for your students to never give up on their dreams!

I Have a Dream Mobile Activity for Kids

Alternatively, create a bulletin board using all of your students’ dreams for the entire school to see! Use the Our Hopes And Wishes banner to frame your display.
